Police officer to appear in court over allegations of sexual assault in Bedford

A Bedfordshire Police officer to appear in court today (April 8) after he was charged with sexual assault.

PC James Barrett-Barnett, a 25-year-old probationary police officer, will appear at Huntingdon Crown Court charged with sexual assault and assault by penetration. The force says the allegations relate to an off-duty incident in Bedford in January 2022.

He is currently suspended.
