Police are appealing for information after the attempted robbery of a cyclist in Bedford on Tuesday (23 June).

The incident took place in Milburn Road at around 6pm, when the cyclist was approached by a man who demanded his bike.

When the victim refused to hand over the bike he was pushed, kicked and punched by the offender, who is described as black and aged in his mid-30s.

PC Oly Tomlinson, investigating, said: “This was a nasty incident which took place in broad daylight in a residential area. The victim managed to come away with his bike, though it was damaged during the attack and he is understandably shaken up.

“I would be keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at this time or knows anything about this attack.”

Call PC Tomlinson on 101, text 07786 200011, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with information.
