Parents charged with murder over death of baby at Wixams, near Bedford

The parents of a two-month-old girl have been charged with murder following her death at Wixams, near Bedford.

Police were called by the East of England Ambulance Service to reports of concern for the welfare of a baby at an address in Wixams, at approximately 6am on Tuesday, June 12.

Officers attended and the child, Harper Denton-Eves, was taken to hospital where she died shortly after.

An investigation was subsequently launched by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.

Cherinea Denton, 33, and Kevin Eves, 36, both of Nightingale Court, have been charged with murder and causing or allowing the death or serious injury to a child.

Both were remanded in custody following an appearance at Luton Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Tuesday).
