Officers march in memory of terror attack victims

FOUR officers from Bedfordshire Police have returned from America following their involvement with the tenth anniversary services for those who lost their lives on 9/11.

On September 11 the party, including Det Cons Gail Hawthorne and Rachel Lydon and Special Cons Amanda Dickson, joined others in a march into Manhattan to take part in the official memorial service.

DC Hawthorne said: “The event was extremely emotional, especially when the British memorial took place. We had the pleasure of meeting three NYPD officers who had been at Ground Zero on the day and saved numerous lives.”

The trip was self-funded by the officers.
