A 21-year-old man has been charged in connection with an incident in Bedford on Saturday afternoon (June 5) when a man was stabbed.

Mahmood Amime, 21, of Iddesleigh Road, Bedford, was charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm, attempted robbery, affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, burglary and theft of a pedal cycle.

The victim was taken to hospital with his injuries but is now recovering.

Amime appeared at Luton Crown Court on Monday (June 7) and was remanded into custody pending a future court date.
