"I wouldn’t be sleeping with someone who wasn’t coherent": Sharnbrook man accused of answering ad to abuse wife tells police

One of four men on trial for sexually abusing the wife of a former Tory councillor who drugged and raped her told police there was no way she wasn’t coherent, a court has heard.

Norman Macksoni, aged 48, of Wood End Close, Sharnbrook, has denied one count of rape.

He is one of four men on trial at Winchester Crown Court accused of sexually abusing her.

Former Tory councillor, Philip Young has already pleaded guilty to multiple charges of drugging and sexually abusing his wife, Joanne Young, during a 13-year period, at their home in Swindon, Wiltshire.

The court heard how during police interview, Macksoni had got in contact with Young through the ‘Fab swingers’ site.

The defendant, who works as a logistics manager, said: “He said we want to do this, him and his wife, this is one of their fantasies.

“It’s basically, they call it, excuse my French, ‘f*** and go’ basically.

“So they tell me where they are, I get over there, he lets me in, he says, ‘She’s upstairs on the bed ready’.

“I go upstairs, then he sits on the bed next to her, he starts having a conversation with her and he’s saying, ‘He’s here, he’s ready for you’.

“She’s got her face mask on, she doesn’t wanna see who she’s sleeping with. So then we started having sex.

“I didn’t know he was recording if I’m honest, and he’s talking to her, you know, ‘Are you enjoying it?’ and she’s, her legs move, are wrapped round me and then I finish, I get up and I leave.

“But there was no way that she was drunk or whatever (or) wasn’t coherent.”

Macksoni, who said he MCed at music events, claimed the sex had been consensual and added: “It was just a sex meet with a couple and I left.

“I wouldn’t be sleeping with someone who wasn’t coherent, I wouldn’t do that, that’s not what Fab swingers is about.”

He said that he did not wear a condom and added: “He (Young) specifically said she doesn’t like that, he specifically said that.”

The other three men on trial are:

Richard Wilkins, aged 62, of Toothill, Swindon, Wiltshire – he has pleaded not guilty to one count of rape and one of assault by penetration

Connor Sanderson-Doyle, aged 32, of Swindon – he has denied sexual assault by penetration and sexual touching

Mohammed Hassan, aged 38, of Swindon – he has pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual touching

Young, 50, has pleaded guilty to a total of 56 charges, and a sixth defendant, Dean Hamilton, 47, of Street, Somerset, has admitted one charge of assault by penetration, two of sexual assault and one of rape.

They will be sentenced at the conclusion of the trial.

The trial continues.
