Four teenagers arrested after masked robberies at two Bedford shops over the weekend

The police helicopter was out in force to track down the boys following the incidents at the weekend.

Police confirmed they were called at around 8pm on Saturday (February 1) to reports of a robbery at a shop in Library Walk, Bedford, where four youths stole cigarettes and vodka.

A further report was then made at 8pm on Sunday (February 2) when four youths - wearing masks and hoods - entered a store in Queens Drive, Bedford, and stole cigarettes.

A search by officers - supported by the police helicopter and dog unit - located four teenage boys nearby.

No weapons were reported at either incident.

The boys have been arrested in connection with these incidents, and are currently in custody for questioning.
