Stephen Yaxley-Lennon - better known as Tommy Robinson - was due to appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday) to face a charge of assault by beating.

It is said Yaxley-Lennon, 33, of Silsoe, Bedfordshire, assaulted a man at Peterborough Prison on July 16 last year.

However, his solicitors contacted the court to say he was unable to attend due to work commitments.

The case was adjourned until February 10.
