CCTV released after woman, 21, assaulted in Goldington Road in the afternoon

Officers investigating a report of an indecent assault on a 21 year old Bedford woman have released CCTV pictures of a man they want to question.

The incident happened in Goldington Road, Bedford on Tuesday, August 26, at approximately 2pm as the victim was making her way back to work after walking in to the town during her lunch break.It is believed the man followed the victim along the High Street and in to Goldington Road before assaulting her.

The man is described as black, approximately 33 years old, 5’8” tall, wearing a light

coloured top with a grey open cardigan and a blue baseball cap. He also carried a black

bag across his body.

Detective Constable Chris Avery, investigating is keen to trace anyone who recognises the

man shown in the CCTV stills.

DC Avery said: “The young woman was very distressed but was able to raise the alarm

quickly. We believe the man had followed the victim and as this happened in the middle of

the day we know there was a lot of people who may have spotted the man and can help

identify him from the pictures we are releasing.”
