Could you help keep Prince William’s sandwiches fresh? Bizarre appeal from air ambulance service

The Duke of Cambridge is struggling to keep his sandwiches fresh after the fridge at his air ambulance base broke.

Prince William reportedly takes a packed lunch to work as a helicopter pilot with the The East Anglian Air Ambulance Service – which serves Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex – because the base only has a small kitchen and no canteen.

But the charity has now posted an appeal on Twitter and Facebook for the public to donate a fridge after theirs broke down.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance Service said: “Oh no! The fridge at our Cambridge base has broken down and needs replacing.

“We’re looking for someone to donate a new standard under-counter fridge.

“Please comment below or email [email protected].”

Kensington Palace declined to comment on the suggestion that the Royals should donate a fridge.

The Duke draws a salary for his role flying medics from Cambridge International Airport but donates the money to charity.
