Concert date with sinfonia for talented young musician

A talented Bedford school student is to be a guest soloist with the St Neots Sinfonia at a concert early next month.

Gregory May, from Bolnhurst, will be performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto in A, K488 with the sinfonia on Saturday, March 5.

Gregory, who is in year 9 at Bedford Modern School, already has a wide range of musical talents, playing piano, saxophone, double bass, clarinet and church organ.

He part of four orchestras and bands at school, playing saxophone with the Bedfordshire Big Band, and being the pianist for the choir at Milton Ernest and Thurleigh. Twice a month he is the church organist for Sunday services at two churches in north Bedfordshire.

The concert will be in St Mary’s Church, Eaton Socon at 7.30pm, and features a number of other works including Haydn’s Symphony no. 104. Tickets are £8 and are available from Eileen Raggatt (01480 213884) or on the door.
