James said: “We are doing this because Mick had a close friend spend their last days there and the care they received was outstanding and the staff were brilliant with her and her family. They are a local provider and I’m sure most people around know someone who has spent their last moments there.”

The ultra-marathon is 100k (62 miles) the trio hope to reach Brighton around the 20 hour mark.

James added: “Training is hard going as a normal training run can be anything from 20 to 40 miles on the Greensands Ridge or 2-3 hours in the gym.”
