Three choirs Bedford, Mid Beds and Norway will join together for an evening of choral music at St Paul's Church, this weekend.

The programme on Saturday, May 7, will celebrate J S Bach’s legacy with two cantatas, one sung by Kongsberg Kantori (no 106), the other by St Paul’s Church choir (no 150), but also with a beautiful 20th century piece derived from a Bach chorale, to be sung by all three choirs.

Written by the late leading Norwegian composer Knut Nystedt (1915-2014) a simple chorale setting of Come, sweet death, come, blessed rest is elevated into something more profound and timeless.
