Chief Inspector climbs mountain by moonlight for mental health charity
A Bedfordshire Police officer made the 10-hour trek up Snowdon for charity - in the dark.
Leaving at midnight, Chief Inspector Jaki Whittred joined more than 200 people to scale the Welsh mountain by torchlight, raising more than £600 for the Alzheimer’s Society. Ch Insp Whittred is the force’s lead on mental health awareness. She said: “We are working hard to increase understanding of dementia in the force.”
Bedfordshire Police is classed as a Dementia Friendly Organisation with the Dementia Action Alliance.
The force has a trained ‘Dementia Champion’ who continues to deliver dementia training sessions to the force’s staff, officers and volunteers.
