Charlie and Jacqui keep A Song For You in the family

Musician and songwriter Charlie, from Memphis, will be featuring a CD launch of his new album New Souvenirs which includes a live concert with his band. Charlie wrote the songs and co-produced it with Jacqui.

Singer and recording artist Jacqui will be presenting the show on Friday, October 24, which will feature vocalists from around the UK

The band includes Oli Hayhurst, bass, Nic France, drums, and American-born Frank Griffith, from Bedford, on sax.

Charlie’s eclectic musical style incorporates elements of jazz, blues, traditional r&b and popular music and has received stellar reviews for his original releases, including Southbound, Who I Am and Flutter and Wow. He’s also becoming recognised as an original arranger, with recent scores performed by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Brodsky Quartet, Royal Marine Band, Back To Basie Bigband, and numerous others.

His most recent CD is Lush Life, a solo album of jazz standards produced by Ms. Dankworth, which celebrates the craft of songwriting in jazz.

Jacqui Dankworth, known best as a jazz singer, also draws on folk, soul and blues influences, and will be headlining with The Liverpool Philharmonic and Big Band on New year’s Eve.

She is now working on her new album to be released next year.
