A glittering winter ball has raised thousands of pounds on a Bedfordshire charity’s 20th anniversary.
About 220 Guests arrived at the Park Inn, Bedford, to support the Road Victims Trust, on Saturday (November 28), including bereaved families, emergency services, local businesses and Counselling Volunteers.
The event was a huge success and raised in excess of £12,000 for the Trust, which provides free emotional and practical support to all persons affected by a road death across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.
Fundraising manager Jenny Hillam said: “More than 80 people will be killed on the roads of the three counties each year, leaving many hundreds more devastated.
“The early intervention of our highly-skilled volunteers and coordinators provides hope and support to so many.
“I would like to thank all of those people who supported this event as it enable us to continue to provide our unique service”.
During the night a special presentation was made to Police Cadet Ben Wright who had been commended in a recent Young Persons of the Year initiative. Ben dedicated his prize money to the Road Victims Trust.
