Members and friends of the churches in Ampthill and Flitwick gathered to celebrate Pentecost and the beginning of Christian Aid Week.
About 100 people met at the Millennium Park in Flitwick in sunshine on Sunday, May 15, where children enjoyed fun activities.
Christian Aid regional co-ordinator Rev Andy Godfrey, and organisers of the house-to-house collection, told about the focus of this year’s fundraising.
A service was led by Rev Graham Claydon-Knights, minister of Flitwick Methodist Church, Rev Godfrey gave a short talk and young people from the Sacred Heart Church gave a reading based on the coming of the Holy Spirit. The collectors were commissioned and a birthday cake was cut, pictured.
