CCTV images of men wanted in connection with racially motivated assault

Do you recognise these two men who police want to question about a racially motivated assault?

Officers have issued CCTV images of the two people they would like to speak to in connection with the assault in Tavistock Street on Monday 25 January.

Between 9.55pm and 10.10pm, a man was approached by two men who racially abused him as he walked outside Sainsbury’s supermarket. When the victim did not react, he was assaulted and threatened with a screwdriver.

PC Stephen Burnage, investigating, said: “Bedfordshire Police won’t tolerate hate crime of any kind. I am keen to speak to the two men pictured and anyone in the area at the time who may be able to help with our enquiries.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Burnage on 101, quoting crime reference number JH/3498/16. Alternatively, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
