Can you help catch man who sexually assaulted woman in Bedford?

A woman has been sexually assaulted while walking along a Bedford street during the afternoon.

She was in Elstow Road, close to the junction with Armstrong Drive, at approximately 5pm, on Friday (March 11), when she was approached by a man who then sexually assaulted her.

The man is described as white, in his 30s, average build, approximately six foot tall, with dark cropped hair, and dark eyes.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Karl Heywood said: “This was a completely unprovoked assault on an innocent woman. This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

“I’m urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any information which could help us find the person responsible to contact us immediately.”
