New restaurant venue named as finalist in national awards

Nine months after officially opening its doors, Bedford’s d’Parys has already scooped its first national accolade, being named a finalist in the Publican Awards 2015.

The awards, which are organised by leading pub industry magazine, The Publican’s Morning Advertiser recognise the best pubs from across the country and d’Parys beat off stiff competition to be named one of just five finalists in the Best New Pub/ Bar category.

d’Parys impressed the judges with its unique design, eclectic drinks menu and high quality, inventive dishes which make up its varied food menu.

The hotly anticipated venue opened its doors in March this year following a £1.3million investment which transformed the old hotel on De Parys Avenue into a completely unique, quirky boutique bar and restaurant with rooms. It also boasts Molly’s Tuckshop, which is a haven of nostalgia with traditional sweets and handmade gelato on offer at the counter.

Craig Mayes, Operations Director at Apostrophe Pubs which runs d’Parys said: “We wanted to bring something new and different to Bedford with freshly cooked food, luxurious accommodation and a spectacular design to really give our guests the “wow factor”.

“We’ve only been open for just under a year and have been truly overwhelmed with the support d’Parys has received locally, this award is the icing on the cake!”

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony in London in March 2015, and in the meantime, the team at d’Parys are busy putting the finishing touches to their plans for their first ever Christmas and New Year’s events at the venue.
