Connoisseurs of fine ales will be keen to have a sip of a new offering from a Bedford brewer.
Charles Wells has launched its latest tipple - Charlie Wells Triple Hopped IPA - which is described as a “modern take on a traditional IPA” and compliments the popular Charlie Wells Dry Hopped Lager.
Master Brewer Chris Reid carried out extensive research into original IPA recipes. He said: “I wanted to go back to the history books to deliver a really authentic beer, so spent a lot of time researching brewing archives, looking for traditional malt and hop recipes and working out how best to evolve them for modern tastes.
“Working with our hops suppliers I arrived at a blend of Galaxy, Simcoe, and Goldings hops, alongside various lighter malts, to create a traditionally bitter and hoppy IPA with a soft, modern tropical flavour.”
The drink was launched at Craft Beer Rising event, in London’s Brick Lane, on February 26, 2016,
It will initially be available in Charles Wells managed and tenanted pubs with wider distribution following.
