Police are appealing for witnesses to the break-in

The 50kg bomb thought to date from the early 1940s German air raids on London was discovered close to Wembley Stadium on Thursday.

Home and businesses surrounding the site had to be evacuated and the Army built a blast wall around the device in case it exploded.

It was transported up to a location in Bedfordshire and a controlled detonation was carried out.

For security reasons Bedfordshire Police is unable to confirm the specific location that the bomb was taken to.
