A lucky person will be able to attend a Boyzone concert thanks to the band donating two tickets to a Flitwick school raffle as part of a school fete.

Instead of the usual bottle of wine and box of chocolates school fetes normally offer, Kingsmoor Lower School will be raffling the pair as part of their Fun Day on Saturday July 12 from 11am to 1pm. The fortunate winner and a friend will also be able to meet the band before their Northamton concert this month.

Music journalist and mum Siobhan Monaghan, whose six year old daughter Erin attends the school obtained the passes through her contacts in the industry. She said: “I asked Boyzone’s managed if I could be cheeky and get two tickets for my daughter’s school raffle and they very kindly came straight back and offered us them.”

Siobhan who covered Boyzone on a UNICEF trip to Thailand in 2001 and met Ronan and the band said: “We have resisted inflating the prices - raffle tickets are £1 a strip so there’s a good chance of winning. Some of the mums are jokingly offering to pay £20 a ticket to meet them as the raffle is a great opportunity for Boyzone fans to try their luck!”

Admission to the fete at Kingsmoor Lower School, Kingsmoor Close, Flitwick is free. All funds raised go to the school. There will be face and nail painting and lots more.
