The Pad Presents brings indie/psych five-piece Blossoms to Bedford Esquires for the first gig of 2015, kicking off the year in fine style.

Heralded as the best new band to come out of Manchester, these guys are not to be missed and they will be at the club on Saturday, February 7, with doors opening at 8pm.

Not content with being lumped in with Manchester’s current psych revival, Stockport’s finest five-piece, Blossoms have opted to invent their very own sub-game - Ethereal Nostalgic Sonance.

It’s a suitably florid, OTT description for a band clearly not lacking imagination – the sort of imagination that might well restore your faith in guitar bands. The Manc outfit take the current trend for all things psych and weld it to chiming pop classicism.

There’s something of a Doors-ish mysticism with front man Tom Ogden’s deep vocals twisting through woozy melodies and guitar lines while the band’s winning Merseybeat-esque pop sensibility shines through. Tickets are £7 advance from or Planet Boutique, 18 The Arcade, Bedford (no booking fee). Free after show part at The Pad Nightclub for over 18s only.
