Sonica Hans, then 35, disappeared from her home in Bedford on December 26 2012 and hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Today (August 1), as Sonica’s family spend yet another one of her birthdays without her, police are urging anyone who knows of her whereabouts to get in touch to let them know she is safe.

PC Jayne Klein, from the Bedfordshire Police Missing Persons Co-ordinators, said: “The family have never given up hope that Sonica will return home and remain desperate for any information about her whereabouts.

“On milestones such as birthdays, the loss is even harder to deal with, and that’s why we’re asking people yet again to come forward with information to help give her family closure.

“It is possible that Sonica is safe and well, and has decided to live a life elsewhere, preferring not to tell anyone. If that’s the case we’d urge her to contact us so we can let her family know she is alive and safe.”

Sonia left her flat in Priory Court at around 1.30pm on the day she went missing. A woman matching Sonica’s description was seen on CCTV near the Swan Hotel in the Embankment, but despite extensive searches and enquiries at the time and in the years since, she has not been seen.

Anyone with information about Sonica is asked to contact police on 101 quoting Sonica Hans.
