Be the first to run new road before its open to traffic
The newly-constructed Western Bypass, linking the A6 to the A428 west of Bedford, will provide a smooth surface for runners, walkers and wheelchair users taking part in a sponsored event in aid of St John Hospice, Moggerhanger.
The Western Bypass Challenge has been organised by the Rotary Club of Bedford to help the hospice raise the £1.4 million it needs each year to provide 90,000 hours of care.

Hide AdA Rotary spokesman Brian Hanling said: “The event includes a sponsored open run, fun run and open walk so that people of all ages and abilities can support a local charity while seeing the new bypass before it opens to traffic.”
The three events, on Sunday, April 10, will be started by Bedfordshire Lord Lieutenant Helen Nellis, Bedford and Kempston MP Richard Fuller, and Bedford Mayor Dave Hodgson.
Commemorative medals will be awarded to all participants and there will be prizes for the Best Fancy Dress and Biggest Fund Raisers. Ninety per cent of all money raised will go to the Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice, Moggerhanger and 10 per cent will go to Rotary Charities.
