If you are a budding playwright but need some help, a new scheme running in Bedford could be right on cue.
There’s the chance of tapping in to some professional guidance from an award-winning theatre company to develop your work if you make it through the first part of the scheme - but the deadline is next week.
Papatango, a new writing company whose discoveries have won BAFTAs and transferred worldwide, and The Quarry Theatre, in Bedford, are launching a joint scheme to discover and develop writers and showcase their work.
This scheme will support a group of aspiring playwrights to draft a new play each from January to June 2016, culminating in a rehearsed reading of two of the scripts in the summer. Further development or production is a possibility.
Papatango invite anonymous applications from writers of any age from across Bedford. Submissions should be made by email to scripts@papatango.co.uk.
For details and more information visit www.quarrytheatre.org.uk (workshops) or call 01234 362335.
Submissions should include a writing CV, a sample scene of no more than 6 to 10 pages in length. Include a short cover letter, of no more than 250 words, answering the question “What would developing a script with Papatango mean to you?”
These should all be in MS Word or PDF formats. The deadline for submissions is midnight on Friday, December 18. Visit www.paptango.co.uk
