Appeal after woman left in critical condition outside Bedfordshire pub

A woman has been left in a critical condition in hospital after falling outside a pub in Ampthill on Friday.

At approximately 10.40pm the woman was leaving the Queen’s Head pub in Woburn Street when she sustained a serious head injury after approaching a waiting taxi and falling.

Emergency services were called and the woman, in her 50s, was taken Addenbrooke’s Hospital by air ambulance where she remains in a critical condition.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the woman outside the pub to get in touch to help establish the circumstances.

PC Robert Hauxwell, investigating, said: “We are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the woman sustaining these serious injuries and I’m appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.”
