Ampthill Brewhouse launches cheaper booze scheme

Bedfordshire's latest brewery which launches a new Honey Trap summer beer at Ampthill's White Hart Inn tomorrow (Friday May 13) has set up a special £40 membership scheme to give people cheaper booze.

Members are entitled to take a guest along for a two-hour tour of Ampthill Brewhouse on the town’s industrial estate where they both will be able to drink as much beer as they want.

Then they will receive a gift pack containing another five bottles of beer, a pint glass and a bottle opener-cum-keyring.

And on top of all that, they get 10 per cent off all future beer purchases from the brewery

The Brewhouse’s new Honey Trap ale is made with local ingredients, including honey from bees kept at Barton, and wheat, bitter orange peel and coriander.

Brewer Mary Jeffrey said: “We call it sweet summer glugging beer. It’s a ‘limited edition’ that will only be available during the summer months.

“It’s meant to be enjoyed at barbecues on sunny days – if we get any!”

South Bedfordshire CAMRA secretary Mike Coombes said: “We at CAMRA are delighted Ampthill Brewhouse are continuing to develop their beer range, especially when turning their hand to some bolder flavours.
