A recruitment drive has been launched by the region’s ambulance service in a bid to attract 400 student paramedics.
Last year the East of England Ambulance Service recruited more than 400 student paramedics and now it wants to encourage even more into the life-saving job.
Trainee contracts have already been offered to around 200 people and the trust is hoping hundreds more will come forward to fill the remaining 200.
Chief executive Anthony Marsh said: “We have the most ambitious paramedic recruitment campaign in the country.
“Not only have we already recruited more than 400 student paramedics, we are going to replicate that again this year.
“Taking on more paramedics will help us to continue to improve the caring service we give to patients.”
