A421 crash victim cut from car

A person had to be rescued from a car after a major collision on the A421 near the Black Cat roundabout yesterday.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the RTC on the A421 Eastbound yesterday morning, rescuing one casualty from a car.

The incident between two lorries, a van and two private cars happened just before 8.54am.

Fire Control received a call C at 8.54am and the first fire engines, from Bedford and Kermpston Community Fire Stations, were on the scene at 9.08am. They were joined by the Special Rescue Unit from Kempston and colleagues from Bedford and Cambridgeshire FRS’s St Neots Fire Station who provided support.

One casualty was rescued from a car using hydraulic cutting equipment and passed into the care of paramedics.

The incident was closed at 10am.
