More than 160 people gathered at St Joseph's School in Bedford to mark the 50th anniversary mass.

The event was held on St Joseph’s Day, Saturday, March 19, celebrated by Bishop Peter, pictured with alumni and pupils, and Fathers Malcom and Seamus. Many of the children from the school, in Chester Road, and a group of students from St Gregory’s School took part with readings, singing, altar serving and presenting gifts for the offertory. Representatives of the Polish Church presented the school with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Lisa Sumpter, head teacher, gave a brief look back over the school years and visitors were able to take a tour and enjoy memorabilia. Replica St Joseph’s teddy bears, knitted by Pam McNally, raised funds for the Missions Together Charity.
