Top musicians come together for night of jazz at town pub

A young trumpeter will play alongside a Royal Academy student in a music night in Bedford.

The first Monday Night Jazz session in February will see James Copus playing alongside Sam Glaser on tenor saxophone. Mike Gorman will be on the hammond organ and Mark Hale on the drums.

Over the past few years, James has travelled the world playing with musicians including the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, the ‘Riverdance’ company and Basement Jaxx. He has also performed with established bands like the BBC Big Band and the London Concert Orchestra in some of the top venues around the U.K

Sam Glaser is currently a student at the Royal Academy of Music, a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra as well as being a popular sideman with a variety of ensembles on the London Jazz scene.

Mike has been an integral part of the London and UK jazz scene performing with virtually every UK horn player and vocalist of note.

Music starts at 8.30pm takes place at The Bedford Arms.

There is no admission charge however during the first set a collection is taken for the musicians and a contribution of £5 per person is encouraged to pay the musicians for their performance.
