Top joke-writer joins popular TV comic for Ent Shed night

One of Britain's most sought-after comedians comes to Bedford on Thursday June 9 for the regular Castle Comedy night.

Mike Gunn is distinguished by his trademark laconic and lugubrious dark humour. He’s performed on BBC One’s Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, The World Stands-Up and The Comedy Store for Comedy Central, and was named as one of the top ten stand-ups in the country by the Independent.

Opening the show at the Ent Shed in Castle Road is Tony Cowards. Tony is a rapid-fire gag merchant with an arsenal full of one-liners. Tony’s jokes turn up in all sorts of places, from greetings cards to the Times newspaper, so there’s a good chance that even those who have never heard of him have laughed at one of his jokes. He is also something of a a Twitter sensation, wih 16,000 followers, and has been descrived by GQ magazine “the best joke writer around”.

Mike and Tony will be joined by a number of other comedians on the night.

Doors open 6.30pm, with the shows starting at 8pm .
