There will be different events each week for children of all ages to enjoy, including hands-on historical adventures, an archaeological dig and adventures in Wrest Park’s vast gardens.

The summer programme kicks off with Victorian Explorers until Friday July 29 where children will be able to get lost in a world of fun as they travel back to Victorian days to discover how they explored the globe.

Up next is the Ugly Bug Safari from Monday August 1 to Friday August 6. One for the animal lovers and bug hunters, these events will see children reaching for magnifying glasses and joining a hunt for mini beasts.

Ideal for children who love to get their hands dirty, Awesome Archaeology, running from Monday August 8 to Friday August 12, will give them the chance to become daring archaeologists for the day.

Wrest Park is famed for its gardens and waterways and the Garden Explorers events, which run from Monday August 15 to Friday August 19, will give younger generations the chance to explore the gardens, hear stories about famous gardeners from the past and then get crafty using foliage found in the grounds. Nature Detectives then takes place from Monday August 22 to Friday August 26, allowing children will find out more about England’s native creatures.
