While many of us still rely on Google Maps today to get us to and from our destinations, a fun byproduct of the tool is seeing all kinds of amazing, and weird, things from around the world, via the website’s Street View function.
Here are 10 of the strangest, weirdest, funniest and awe-inspiring things you can see on Google Maps.
1. Guitar-shaped forest
This guitar-shaped forest is made up of over 7,000 cypress and eucalyptus trees, and is found in Argentina. Pedro Martin Ureta created the incredible piece of art with his children in a tribute to his wife, Graciela, who died in 1977.
2. Pigeon people of Japan
This is the work of a group of Japanese students, who all donned the same rubber pigeon mask to make this, slightly creepy, Google Maps moment. The photo was taken on a sidewalk along the Tamagawa-josui.
3. Cernes Abbas Giant
The Cerne Abbas Giant is situated near the village of Cerne Abbas in Dorset, England. The origins and age of the giant figure are quite unclear, though the earliest mention of it dates to the late 17th century.
4. Mr Frog
This cheeky little frog can be seen wandering the streets of Prague, striking cute poses for Google Maps.
