Garden waste collections will restart in Bedford Borough on Monday, March 1, following the usual pause in this service over the winter.

Garden waste can go in the green-lidded bin. Please put this bin out alongside your orange recycling bin by 6am on your next recycling day, and it will be collected every other week.

Grass cuttings, plants and weeds, hedge clippings and more can go in the garden waste bin - please make sure it is all loosely within the bin, not in bags.

Cllr Charles Royden, portfolio holder for environment, said: “With spring nearly upon us, we are restarting our garden waste collections from next week.

"Garden waste is collected on the same day as your recycling through spring, summer and autumn.

“If you’re looking to get even more green fingered, the council also offers home compost bins at subsidised prices where you can use your garden waste and food waste and create a great compost for your garden.”
