The areas of new homes developments under construction may look like fun and exciting places to play, but David Wilson South Midlands is warning children that they also pose serious dangers.

“Youngsters are often on the lookout for somewhere new and exciting to play, but construction sites are not adventure playgrounds,” said Colin Jones, Construction Director at David Wilson.

“As the school holidays are with us again, it is important to remind children and their parents about the potential dangers of building sites and the need to stay away from them.

“We have active sites across the region and whilst our construction teams watch out for youngsters during the day and we secure our sites at night, we also ask parents to make sure they know where their children are during the holiday time.”

David Wilson holds regular safety talks and site visits for schools close to where it is building, to highlight the hazards of playing on or near building sites.

“It’s important to get youngsters thinking about the dangers that exist and hammer home the message that they should stay away,” he added.

David Wilson South Midlands was given a five star rating in this year’s HBF Customer Satisfaction Survey, in which consumers are asked if they are satisfied with the quality of their new home and whether they would recommend their builder to a friend.

For added peace of mind, buyers can also benefit from David Wilson’s new five year guarantee on fixtures and fittings in their new home at the time of purchase.

Items covered at no extra cost to the buyer will include appliances such as washing machines and refrigerators, kitchen units, wardrobes, the central heating system, fires, doors, windows, drainage, the hot and cold plumbing system and even the driveway.
