Star makes relaunch an Olympic occasion

Olympic swimmer and Strictly Come Dancing star Mark Foster was the guest of honour at an exclusive restaurant relaunch at Wyboston Lakes.

Mark attended the Strictly Come Dining event in March to celebrate the £700,000 refurbishment of the award-winning Waterfront Restaurant & Bar.

The former European, Commonwealth and world champion is no stranger to Wyboston Lakes, as he trained at the venue’s leisure centre for his appearances on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2008.

The five-time Olympian was joined by 50 VIP guests at the relaunch, including, mayor of Huntingdon Jennifer Sarabia and mayor of St Neots Gordon Thorpe,

Mark said: “I had a brilliant time and it was great to go back to Wyboston Lakes and catch up with some familiar faces,

“The restaurant looks terrific after the refurbishment, and the food was out of this world. It was a real pleasure to be invited and I hope I’ll be back soon.”

Formerly known as the Waterfront Brasserie, the AA Rosette Waterfront Restaurant & Bar has undergone extensive restyling and now boasts a spacious bar area, new sound and lighting systems, new flooring, a private dining room and new furnishings.

The 90-seat restaurant has also been redecorated throughout.

General manager at Wyboston Lakes Alasdair Swan said: “I was delighted with the evening. We’ve really been looking forward to the reopening of the Waterfront Restaurant & Bar and it was a pleasure to see so many guests support the event,” he said.

“Our chefs produced a meal of the highest quality which was enjoyed by everyone.

“The restaurant has always been a popular location to eat and now we’re confident that it will be an even bigger success following the refurbishment.”
