A new gastro deli has opened in the former Fred’s Chippy in Newnham Street.
Popular with anyone checking out what was going under the hammer at Peacock's back in the day, the former chippy has now been transformed into an open kitchen and deli counter called Cibo Deli & Kitchen.

Working with Bedford’s own mozzarella makers Valerio’s, the store will sell special hand-made cheeses, returning to traditional methods of producing mozzarella.
Cibo will also run special evening foodie events and collaborations with guest chefs, friends and producers.
Legendary French chef Pierre Koffman opened the doors on Tuesday (June 1).
