Well, the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) has just released its latest Good Beer Guide – and quite a few of our beloved pubs have made the cut.
The guide, which lists 4,500 of the best pubs across the UK, is the definitive beer drinker’s guide – and it’s on sale here
Information is collated by thousands of volunteers and almost 20 pubs in Bedford and the surrounding area are featured this time around.
Unfortunately, Camra won't let us reveal all the pubs included – you'll have to buy the guide to see the full list – so here are just 10 to wet your whistle. Cheers.

5. The Fox, Carlton
You'll find this pub in the village's High Street. A charming, thatched community place with a warm welcome and an attractive garden popular with families. Guest beers are often from local microbreweries. North Beds Camra Pub of the Year 2022 and Community Pub of the Year Photo: Christie & Co, Winchester

6. Oakley Arms, Harrold
Also in the village High Street, the Oakley Arms is an attractive 400-year-old inn. Ales are usually from Tring and other local microbreweries. As for food, it's prepared to order with a preference for locally-sourced ingredients and according to what's in season - so, proper Photo: Google

7. The Bell, Odell
This handsome High Street thatched village pub boasts a large garden. It's popular with walkers - and I'm not surprised - as it offers tea and cakes as well as the usual fare. It was also named Lockdown Hero 2020 by North Beds Camra Photo: Google

8. The Cock, Pavenham
A friendly village pub with a choice of cask ales, the bar of the High Street pub has a late Art Deco look. The large rear garden connects through a rear gate to the Ouse Valley Way and John Bunyan Trail public footpaths Photo: Google
