The popular – and historic – Greene King pub is showing off its new look just in time for the St Cuthbert’s Street Parade at the end of this month.
Kerbside appeal has been boosted with new signs, planters and furniture. Inside, there have been improvements to the bar area layout, flooring and décor.
But don’t worry – the works have carefully preserved all the character of the town centre pub, in St Cuthbert’s Street.
General manager, Jim Drakeford – who used to be a regular when he was a rugby player – said: “The Ship is a longstanding and important part of Bedford’s pub scene and it is great to be open again to welcome back our regulars and new faces. This is the place where people love to meet up, watch a match, discuss the latest games or share drinks with colleagues and friends.
"Just as it has done for hundreds of years, we’re looking forward to more customers enjoying our hospitality, and sharing and making memories.”
