Which pets can I rehome?

There are so many different types of pets to choose to adopt from Woodgreen – with up to 500 in their care at a time, in fact.

The Cambridgeshire rehoming centre offers a wide choice of dogs and cats, rabbits and chickens – and not forgetting rodents, if they are your ideal pet!

Some of Woodgreen’s pets come as strays, with very little information about their background, while others have had caring owners all of their lives.

Making the ideal match

Like dating, matching the right pet with the right owners is a skill in itself. That is why the dedicated carers at Woodgreen carry out a full assessment on each of their animals.

If you would like to rehome a pet, just register your details via an application form on our website.

We will check which pets would be compatible with you and the type of home you can provide. We want you to be happy with your new pet and them to thrive in their new environment, so it’s important to get it right.

Can anyone adopt their choice of pet?

You just need to be aged 18 or over and that is the only set criteria.

Owners, like pets, come in all shapes and sizes. You may work full-time or be part of a busy family. You may live in a flat or have a home with a large garden. Everyone can be considered.

Some pets are more sociable than others and all have a different background and set of circumstances. Meeting their requirements is always our priority.

How will you help me afterwards?

Whether you have just taken your new pet home or have owned it for several years, we are always on hand to help with any challenges you may encounter.

To make the right start, pets from Woodgreen are neutered, microchipped and are insured for their first month in your home. They have also been given their relevant vaccinations, flea and worming treatments. Extra goodies are also sent to your home with dogs and cats.

You will also be given their assessment, to help know their behaviour and individual medical needs.

Is it worth it?

From personal experience of offering a new home to several of Woodgreen’s pets, I cannot tell you how much joy they have given me. I have loved getting to know their individual personalities.

You will not only be giving a pet a second chance of a loving new home but you should get so much joy from them, once you have settled them into their new forever home.
