Entry is free and category winners and runner-ups will receive vouchers to spend at Frosts at Willington. The best entry overall is crowned Biggleswade Chronicle Garden of the Year!

We have two new categories - best commercial display, which is open to all businesses, pubs and restaurants - and young gardener, open to children aged seven to 14.

The full list of categories is as follows:

_ best large front garden (over 50sq m)

_ best small front garden (under 50sq m)

_ best large back garden (over 70sq m)

_ best small back garden (under 70 sq m)

_ best commercial display

_ best community garden

_ best school garden

_ best allotment/ vegetable garden

_ best young gardener

All you have to do is complete and submit an entry form - download one by clicking on the link on the right - together with a colour photo of your garden.

Judges will choose a shortlist of gardens to visit.

Then they will assess how pleasing each garden is to the eye, and how well the overall design works in relation to the size of the garden. The variety, colour, overall maintenance and general health of planting will be considered.
