Enjoy the best of country life at big fair coming to Wrest

Thousands are expected to flock to Wrest Park for its first Country Fair over the weekend of June 18 and 19.

Organisers Oakleigh Fairs, promise a host of entertainment aimed to appeal to the whole family.

Oakleigh Fairs director Emma Owen said: “We are delighted to be coming to Wrest – and we hope the show will become the must-visit destination for families over the weekend both this year and for many more to come’.

Entertainment includes Jez Avery’s Stunt Bikes, children’s shows with Banana Brain, John Cavana’s working dogs, birds of prey flying displays, have-a-go terrier racing, the goat show including bottle feeding lambs and kids, historical re-enactment with Swords of Chivalry, ferret racing and children’s petting pens.

Full size and scale vintage steam engines will be on display, while rural demonstrators will help to set the scene.

There will also be a selection of arts, crafts and gifts exhibitors as well as trade stands. The event will be fully catered with a licensed bar.

And on the Sunday there’s the Companion Dog Show – so visitors are invited bring along a canine friend and have a go.

Well behaved dogs on a short lead are welcome, but not in the Food Hall

Admission on the gate costs £7.50 for adults, £6 for concessions and £3 for children aged five to 16. Under-fives are admitted free.
