Amateurs take on a Corden classic with comedic show

A comedy which was a smash hit on the West End and Broadway starring James Corden is being put on by Ampthill and Flitwick Dramatic Society.

The group is one of the first amateur companies to stage One Man Two Guvnors which will be performed from Thursday March 17 to Saturday March 19 at Stewartby Village Hall.

The play is set in 1960s Brighton follows our loveable hero Francis as he tries to earn enough money to buy himself lunch having lost his job playing in a skiffle band.

Combining a fast moving storyline with slapstick and elements of traditional British seaside farce and panto, Francis ends up working for two people and predictable chaos ensues.

A spokesman for the group said: “It is a very funny show and promises to be a great night out.

We have a strong cast of actor sof whom are very experienced and others who are new to the group. In addition we have some very talented musicians and singers as this production includes music written for the show.”

The show starts at 7.30pm each night.
