Because the 17-year-old is the face of a countywide campaign to encourage new mothers to breastfeed their children.
After winning the ModelMum competition, Connie will help to show that breastfeeding is not only best for babies, but it can be glamorous too. And she will be joined in the campaign by her four-month-old son Benjamin.
Connie, who lives in Catherine Road, said: “My mum didn’t breastfeed me, so it was all new to both of us. But my midwife was really helpful.
“Now when I see mums bottle- feeding their children I want to encourage them to do it. And when Benjamin gets weighed and he’s put weight on, I feel like I’ve helped him to do it.”

As well as fronting the campaign, Connie was treated this week to a free celebrity makeover at Fifth Avenue salon, a new outfit from Beales clothes shop, and a photo shoot and afternoon tea at the Swan Hotel.
Jacky Syme, from SEPT Community Health Services Bedfordshire, said: “80 per cent of new mother breastfeed in Beds - but by the time the children are six weeks old it’s 45 per cent. We hope Connie can show the benefits of breastfeeding, and that it’s glamorous too.”
