Now living in a care home in Bedford, Mabel - who has a daughter, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren - is preparing for a big party in her homnour.
Born in Wandsworth, London in 1916, she moved to Bedfordshire when she was in her 50s - initially in Sandy, then later on in Bedford.
A lover of free flowing cups of tea and eating ice cream, when asked what's the secret to a long life, she said: "I don’t know, I just live day-to-day."
