Top fund raiser on march for cancer charity
A marketing consultant who walked 44km with Sky Sports' Jeff Stelling is among the top fundraisers for Prostate Cancer UK.
Bob Jackson, from Ampthill, joined the TV presenter on his Men United March across the country, to raise money and awareness for the charity.
He walked from Luton to Watford on the penultimate day of Jeff’s challenge to complete 10 marathons in 10 days from Hartlepool to Wembley.
The team set off from Kenilworth Road at 8am and made it to Vicarage Road shortly after 5pm. After, Bob heard he is among the top three per cent for fundraising for the charity.
The 68-year-old said: “The march was invigorating, it was great to be part of it. It is important to me that I have raised such a large amount for the charity because they give a lot of support to people affected by the cancer.”
Bob is also encouraging men to go and get checked by a doctor after his own early diagnosis saved his life.
