Put your gloves on and help a good cause

People from across the UK are being asked to get their gloves to show their support and raise money for children and adults with scleroderma on Friday, June 29, World Scleroderma Awareness Day.

Scleroderma can cause physical disability and be life threatening, as the skin, joints, tendons, and parts of internal organs can all be affected. It can affect anyone of any age and is a life-long condition. The cause or causes are unknown and there is no cure.

Children and adults with scleroderma often feel cold when most people don’t because one of the most common symptoms is extremely poor circulation – their hands literally go blue, or even black, with cold.

They often need to wear gloves or coats – even in summer – so we are asking people to get their gloves on to have some fun, and at the same time raise money and awareness!

The funds raised by Wear Your Gloves to Work Day will allow the Scleroderma Society to continue helping children and adults affected by this condition through a free telephone Helpline, information leaflets and local support groups across most of the UK3, as well as funding research into the cause and a cure.
